What is A Bigger Voice?
When people hear the words, A Bigger Voice, their faces light up. The phrase brings to mind self-expression, influence, being heard in a crowded marketplace. Yet, A Bigger Voice is more than a one-way broadcast to the masses. That's an old model of marketing and PR that doesn't work anymore. Not in the connected, multi-tasking, attention-stretched society that we live in.
A Bigger Voice is not so much about satisfying your ego (although it probably will do that as well) but about creating a vehicle for lasting and significant impact in the world. We want to help people who are trying to answer the question, "How do I have a bigger impact in the world?"
The mission: Help innovators with remarkable wisdom create stunning results and sustainability.
The vision: Put “doing good and doing well” within reach of hundreds of thousands.
- Do good and do well. Creating both social good and a profit are not only possible, it's a necessity. Having a cause and seeing it grow is not enough. It needs to be sustainable—profitable in some way to keep the lights on. It's a "both/and" situation, rather than an "either/or."
- One voice can start a community. It’s not enough to have your voice heard by others. Your voice, your remarkable wisdom is the seed for something that has a life of its own-- a vibrant community.
- Community creates stunning results. A vibrant community of kindred spirits is the vehicle for producing stunning results. Undeniably stunning results. Whether you are a social entrepreneur, an author, or an innovator in public policy, think of the best possible outcome and multiply that by 10. Attracting and co-creating with your tribe will take you there.
- Monetizing and community-building are parallel and interdependent paths to sustainability. Think about how to create value in the marketplace early on, even as the focus is on building your community. The community will naturally inform you of marketplace value, as part of a many-to-many conversation. Your challenge is to ensure that the end result serves rather than exploits. This is the path to sustainability.
- Phase 1: Crystallize.. This includes life story, wisdom, principles, stunning result and marketing conversation.
- Phase 2: Build Community. We use three enablers to build community:
- Marketing. Making your message visible to others.
- Networking. Creating and nurturing 1:1 connections.
- Technology. A strategic mix to create a conversation with your audience.
- Phase 3: Sustain. This includes monetizing and monitoring your efforts in Phase 1 and Phase 2. The seeds for sustainability are planted in those phases and harvested in Phase 3.
